Designing Arabic-First Digital Services

Great Arabic experiences are designed from the start, not translated at the end.

Many digital services are designed in English and translated into Arabic at the end. Users notice: layouts that break in right-to-left, awkward wording and forms that reject Arabic names.

Right-to-left is a design decision

Arabic-first design means layouts, icons, navigation and data visualizations that feel natural in right-to-left from the first sketch, with English as an equal second language.

Content is part of the product

Clear, plain Arabic reduces calls, errors and abandoned requests. Writing and testing content with real users is as important as writing code.

When digital services feel native, adoption follows. That is how e-services become the preferred channel, not just the available one.
